On September 15, 2025, we had the honor of welcoming Emeline Lakrout, a visually impaired paraclimbing athlete, to our department. Emeline is the 2025 U.S. ParaClimbing National Champion and a member of the U.S. national team. She also achieved an impressive fifth-place finish at the 2022 ParaClimbing World Cup held in Switzerland. In 2019, Emeline served as Vice President of the Disability Advocacy Student Organization at the University of Texas at Austin. During that time, she warmly welcomed a group of students with disabilities from the “Flying Against the Wind” exchange program, organized by the Special Education Center at NTNU.
